Come Try Our Mixto® Pro Laser. Improve the look and feel of acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles with our customizable Mixto® Laser Resurfacing. Options are just as unique as you…and the results are smoother, softer, more radiant skin.
Our Mixto® Resurfacing laser is fractionated, which means that we can customize the treatment to be Light or Deep…or a mixture of the two. This ensures that your results can be what you want and your downtime can be, too. The Mixto® is a resurfacing laser which exfoliates skin cells by vaporizing tiny dots instead of removing everything. This means faster healing and less risk.

Mixto® Skin Resurfacing is carbon dioxide laser resurfacing at its highest quality. It’s calibration requires an expert touch, understanding of how skin reacts to laser light, and how the skin heals after laser stimulation. Our two laser providers, Jessie Mallalieu and Susan Young, are the last word in laser skin resurfacing. Both have over 12 years’ experience in laser and cosmetic dermatology and will customize your plan to meet your needs safely.
We know that one of the scariest parts of a cosmetic procedure can be worrying about the cost. That’s why we’re happy to provide Mixto® estimates over-the-phone. Please call us to discuss your questions: (301)698-2424.

Deep Mixto® treatments involve using our most advanced Mixto® Laser hand piece at deeper, higher fluence settings. This is the most state-of-the-art use of ablative, fractionated carbon dioxide lasers. Treatments aim to remove skin cells and elements of the deeper layers of skin, which causes maximum collagen contraction and regeneration.
For our Light Mixto®, we use laser settings at medium intensity and density. The results are more modest than the Deep Mixto® and there is less associated downtime.
On the day of the treatment, we apply a deep numbing mask in our office for two hours. Injections of local anesthetic may also be used if indicated. Then we remove the mask and our provider pulses the desired areas with the Mixto® laser.
A full face takes about 20-30 minutes for each pass. Smaller areas may only take a few minutes. The total treatment time depends on how aggressive you want to be.
On the day of the treatment, we apply a numbing mask and have you relax in our office for about two hours. Then, we remove the mask and our provider pulses the desired areas with the Mixto® laser.
A full face takes about 20 minutes for each pass. The total treatment time depends on how aggressive you want to be. Pain during the procedure is very well controlled by the numbing mask. In addition, we provide oral medications for patients who feel anxious.
For rejuvenation of the face, we recommend a Deep Mixto® treatment every few years. Treatments can be repeated as much as every 2-4 months on small areas of acne or traumatic scarring.
The number of treatments depends on your goals. After the initial healing phase, you will notice immediate improvement in the appearance of your skin. Further improvements gradually occur as the collagen remodels.
We recommend re-evaluation at six months to see if a second treatment is desired. For patients that use the Light Mixto® to maintain their skin, we recommend a treatment once or twice a year.
After a treatment, your skin quickly becomes red, swollen and moist, followed by a period of peeling and healing. Total downtime depends on how aggressive you want to be.
If the eye and mouth area are treated, swelling around the eyes or mouth will occur and last a few days. Redness occurs at all treatment sites and may take 1-2 weeks to fade. Dark specks at the sites of the laser dots can also take 1-2 weeks to fade.
After a treatment your skin quickly becomes red, swollen and moist, followed by a period of peeling and healing. Total downtime depends on how aggressive you want to be. Lighter peels take 4-5 days to heal. For a Custom Mixto® with deeper pulses, healing takes one to two weeks.
Most reactions to the treatment are temporary, as described above. There are rare reports of infections, persistent redness, temporary or permanent pigment changes (lightening or darkening of skin), and scarring.

Our Light Mixto® can be customized to allow for focused areas of deeper pulses with the laser. This will stimulate greater healing and better results to meet your goals. This option is called our Custom Mixto®.
It took me a long time to get my thoughts together to write a proper review about my surgery and Dr. To, but I am finally ready. Dr. To is amazing! It will be 2 years in May 2018 that I had my mini face and eye lift. I am so happy that I had it done. The results are beautiful. There was very little pain and no scarring! No one believes that I am 64 years old and I like looking at myself in the mirror again since the surgery, which I had avoided for a long time beforehand. The doctor, as well as the office and nursing staff are excellent, caring, and supportive professionals who answered all my questions, helped me understand what the procedure would involve and what to expect afterwards. I was absolutely pleased with the results and have never regretted having had the surgery. I will be forever grateful to Dr. To and his staff. God bless you all for the wonderful work that you do
